Hello all!
We are just loving our Aerogardens; we've had several basil and lettuce harvests, and my spouse is so happy about the fresh food. We're interested in getting another machine for tomatoes, but I'd love to hear some recommendations.
- Do you have a favorite machine for growing tomatoes? How many pods do you use for that machine?
- Do you have a favorite tomato variety you grow? I like a sweet but robust tomato, if that makes any sense.
I'd love to hear your recommendations!

Hi
While I am only a couple tomato projects in, I can say that your best bet is to get a Bounty. (Basic 30W, Bounty 40W, Elite 50W)
I say Bounty for several reasons. LED Wattage, 24" hood height, bigger deck, more options (the ability to change light brightness at any time, etc).
As for recommendations. I have none. I have only grown the AG Heirloom, Windowbox Red and just now the Red Robbins but they have not ripened yet.

I would recommend the Bounty, too, for the reasons Shawn gave.
I also don't have enough experience to recommend varieties, either. I am growing the Red Windowbox now based on Corinne's and Shawn's recommendations.
But they are true micro dwarfs, and I think I would prefer a larger plant in the Bounty.

Two is good. You might be able to do three but I have never grown more then one. Wait for others to chime in.

As far as cherry tomatoes go... I have some Orange Hat Tomatoes growing in my AeroGarden Harvest that I've been very happy with. I've got four plants in there, and the tallest is just under five inches. Each plant grew about three inches from the center of the pod in all directions (six inches wide in total), but you could probably fit more in there with some pruning. I didn't do any pruning aside from when the branches grew over the water access port. I also have a Tiny Tim Tomato growing Kratky-style in a mason jar. It's certainly taller, around nine inches, but the width is the same as the Orange Hat. The height may be just due to poor light, since I have it growing in a windowsill with no supplementary lighting. It has tomatoes on it though:  |

I am very pleased with my Red Windowbox tomatoes that are ripening now. I could probably squeeze 3 in a Bounty, but I like to give mine plenty of breathing room. I will probably grow them again.
Error's Orange Hats do look very good!

Sher and ERR0R1755, those look amazing! I wish I'd seen them earlier. The other day I ordered some Aerogarden cherry tomatoes, but the "large" variety. Hoping to set those up soon!

The last Aerogarden I bought came with AG's heirloom tomato pods. I don't have Aerogarden space for them yet, though, since I planted flowers. Maybe I can grow them this winter.
