I'm a new AeroGarden owner and I'm trying to figure out what to plant and when. I've been scouring the internet for information on yields, but there seems to be little data and what is there is inconsistent. I currently have a Bounty, and I just acquired 3 Farm XL gardens and have a couple more Bounty gardens on the way.
I'm most uncertain about leafy greens. The only quantitative report I could find on lettuce yields was tiny (about .2 ounces/plant/week), but there are tons of anecdotal reports of AeroGarden owners having more lettuce than they know what to do with. We eat a good amount of salad - probably 5-10oz/day. At first I was inclined to plant one entire Farm XL with greens now, and the other in 6-8 weeks so I have a perpetual harvest, leaving the third Farm XL for vegetables. Now I'm wondering if I should use all three for greens. Thoughts?
As for vegetables, I made the same mistake as many first time AeroGarden purchasers, thinking that "up to nine plants" meant I could grow nine tall vegetables in my Bounty, only to be surprised to find three seeds in the kit. Now that I have the three Farms, I was planning to move the tomatoes and peppers currently in the Bounty into the Farm, plant a few more in the Farm and use the Bounty for herbs.
I'd love any input, resources or thoughts the community can share.
Thanks! -TD

I would suggest going to the members' corner garden section and looking for Farms. Then search for lettuce and read their timeline for growth. That would not only give you an idea of timing, but on variety, harvesting and quantity. There are some who have gotten so much lettuce and greens that they couldn;t use it all, but it seems you would. Why not take a look?

Hello and Welcome!
I echo what Corinne stated. I would look in the Members Gardens. We have many with Farms and you can see what, how and the amount they grow as well as timing.
I myself do not own a Farm so I can not help with yield on those.

I've been at it with my Farms for a while now and I feel like I'm still figuring out my lettuce rotation. I try to run two Farms in a rotation where I end up replanting every 21-45 days depending. I never feel like the timing is quite right, but that's not your question.
I don't like to fully plant the Farms with greens because I think the crowding limits production. I usually do 6 per side, for 12 plants per Farm. That lets me pull three small side salads every 3-5 days.
