Thanks Shawn. I need to mount my camera to my tri-pod for a better view.

It always amazes me how active plants are! I love watching the process. Thanks!

Thank you sher01! I mounted my Wyze cam to my tri-pod and set it in front of all three instead of the side view. Looking forward to seeing the time-lapse video on the 16th - using one minute interval shots so the video might end up a little long but it's still fun! Thanks again

Thanks Corinne! Amazing how much the plants move around! I have an engineer friend who is in to the 3d printing world and he's making some spacers for me from a thingiverse file he found for me. Looking forward to getting those installed. The large milk jug and old Penzies spice caps work well until a plant decides to move it LOL! Thanks again for following along

Looking for some advice with my Romaine; Should I do a hair cut or let this grow more? Pic from this eve; About 3 weeks into this grow. The Romaine looks like I could give it a hair cut. The light is only up 2 "notches" - should I continue to raise the light or harvest?

It sure looks good and looks tasty too.
I have stopped doing the haircut and am just cutting the biggest leaves. I am happier with the results. Before, I would only get a few haircuts before I had to toss the plants because they were too bitter. I have been cutting leaves for quite some time now (I think I am on about day 60) and they still taste good. But I also switched the nutrients to Dyna-Gro - Foliage - Pro, which I think made the biggest difference. I believe AG nutrients make bitter lettuce.

I like the haircut method. I know I will only get three hardest from it as these are fast growers I don't mind restarting.
You also have to remember to never cut pull prune your lettuce and or herbs the day of or within 2 days after feeding. This will cause bitterness. I've never had a problem using AG nutes but that's just me.
Also the colder the water the less bitter and bolting you will have.

The beginning of a great tom harvest! As for cutting Romain, I prefer to cut it all, unlike what I usually do with loose leaf varieties.

Thank you for the advice!
Last night after work, I took a deep breath, had a nice spicey bloody mary and took a step back. Raised the light hood another notch and decided to let them grow out a little more.
My son and I are steaming up 150 little neck clams tonight, so tomorrow will be a good day for a veggie cleanse, I'll harvest then w00t!

Love the photo of your sneaky little surprise. How exciting to see your first tomato flowers.
And your description of chickening out of hsrvesting the lettuce is hilarious! Better luck next time!

Thank you Corinne! Yes it was - 6 pods of romaine. I use my prime account and order from amz instead of direct from AG.
