Brazilian Moruga - Extra Secundus (11/26) ** Term 07/22

Still growing despite my "ok start blossoming now" nutes mix. Been topping daily, finally decided to make it a 2'6" garden with my 3d printed extender and an extension cord off Amazon.

Took a bit of trimming with the dremel, but I can go back and refine the model.

I originally bought it as a support for my Aerogardens.

I could probably print you some pink spacers...

That is so beyond awesome!  I love it!

This thing is still standing tall and fairly healthy looking, but after 4 months, I've yet to see a blossom on it, much less an actual pepper.

The behavior of this plant can be best described as "snakeshit crazy."

It's in an extra with the hood fully extended plus another six inches (from the hood extender I printed).  The plant itself is pretty leggy, with most of the leaves jammed up into the light hood so densely that almost no light escapes.  The rest has grown around the hood, literally reaching the ceiling.

There are some blossoms on this plant, but not many, and nothing's set yet.

Seeing the results of my neglect on the other pepper plants, it occurs to me that I need to do a really hard prune on this plant, not so much to cause more branching, because it doesn't need it, but to redirect the nutrients from growth to setting fruit.

I have long since removed any growth nutes from its diet, with it on a standard dose of base nutes and a double dose of "Bloom" nutes, and that isn't doing it.

I'd kind of like to see a nice harvest from this plant so I can repurpose the garden to a new Habanero plant.

I know I haven't said much about this plant, but that's mainly because it's steadfastly refused to do anything beyond growing around the light hood, all the way to the ceiling.  Keep hacking it back, it keeps growing again.

Ultimately, I think it's not warm or humid enough in my apartment for this thing to have borne fruit, so I finally killed it yesterday.

Thinking of rededicating this Extra to some red habaneros.
