I have a question ( I do not have a 2nd farm)..
For anyone that has stacked can the Classic Farm (12" grow height/24" tall unit) sit under an XL unit? Does it hold all the extra weight of the XL?

I have a classic on top of an XL but I feel pretty certain the reverse would work, and aerogarden states that any two farms can stack using their stacking system.

I have an XL on top of the Classic. It’s been set up like that for about a week with no problems, and I didn’t use the wall anchors either since I wanted space to get behind them and they’re in a closed-off room that only I go into. I would think very hard about your setup location and the foot-traffic it sees (from both people AND pets, and how likely accidental bumping would be) if you don’t use the wall anchors. It seems plenty sturdy and unlikely to tilt, but I would think tipping might become an issue if someone bumped it hard enough.
Only complaint so far is that I need a stand-stool to see the screen of the XL now, which was only an issue when my power went out and I had to reset the time, otherwise I do everything in the app. Probably could have done the time in the app too but didn’t think of it until afterwards lol.

Welcome maskedsonnet! Thanks. I kinda expected that if I ever do get a basic I would put it on the bottom. And yes I know about a step stool, especially at my height LOL

A fellow shorty!! I think I finally figured out embedding photos, so this is part test and part to show just how tall the stack is!! It nearly touches my ceiling, but that's partly because I've got it sitting on a coffee table, about 1.5-2 feet up from the ground. My pepper plants look sad because I'm fighting a mite problem, the dang things always manage to work their way in somehow!
