I ate the ripe one yesterday. I hate to say, it was very bland with not much flavor.

Great picture. Too bad it was a little disappointing.

I don't have any fully ripe at this time. However, a large percentage of the toms are definitely turning yellow. It won't be long before I can start a new garden. Once these are done, there is no second crop.

That's really unfortunate since there re so many on the plant. Do you think you can include them in some kind of salsa or sauce? If not, and you dislike the flavor, why not start another project? I would if I had the strength to do it and were not going to use the toms. But I like a weaker tasting tom and so I think I will like this project. I can sense your disappointment.

I don't know, Corinne. I'd like to make a single batch of yellow pasta sauce with these. Tart tomatoes with garlic, onions, oregano, basil, dill, peppercorns, salt and chipotlé powder. Add in 4-cheese Mexican blend and simmer for a while.

These are a disappointment. The flavor is at best, bland. The plant sprawl is ugly too. I'm taking this garden down in a week. The way they are ripening, I will make a veg juice cocktail out of these.

That sounds like a good application.
The mystery tomato plant that took over half my dining room had the same problem. Very productive, but very bland red cherries. It's on its last legs now (I've been hacking it back for weeks until now, it finally fits in a Bounty) and will probably terminate that at the end of the month.
But I was just put onto a different variety of red cherries called "sweet baby girl." Just ordered seeds on Amazon. Might try them out and report back here.

Sorry they were a bust. I like trying new things but I can understand when you are not satisfied with the taste. Kinda makes oyu feel like you wasted AG Landscape.

That is too bad given the amount of fruit the plant produces. Somehow I have managed to keep my branches from jumbling up. For now, that is. At least you will be getting some use from your efforts, Mike. You may like the slightly stronger flavor of the Sweet n Neat (red). The Yellow Canary has a sweeter tom taste, but bay be too bland for you I think.

I should have a dozen more, tomorrow. Add a Godfather Sweet pepper from my garden. I need to run to the grocery store tomorrow. I'd like another yellow tomato or two. Plus, a couple yellow carrots, a yellow bell pepper, some celery, Cantaloupe, fresh ginger, fresh garlic, Vidalia onion, Fresh Limes, and fresh Parsley. From my garden, add some fresh Thai and Genovese Basil and fresh Dill. I also want to throw in a frozen red Jalapeno.

I NEVER see yellow toms in the local grocery store chains. Great haul there!

Well, the veggie cocktail sounds great even if the toms were disappointing.

I only see yellow tomatoes at the Country Store/Farm. They have the BEST produce (other then our home grown ones f45654 )

I never would've thought of a veggie cocktail to use up bland toms, Mike. An excellent use. Still has nutrition, and is a great filler and platform for other flavors to take center stage. Nicely done.

I still have a cup left for tomorrow morning. It IS delicious. But it was despite the tomato taste. The rest of the ingredients made this special.
