Day 0 of my AeroGarden. I'm trying tomatoes, bell pepper, purple pepper and baby jalapeno. Let's see how it goes.  Super excited.

Welcome to the forum.
You have a nice variety growing. I do want you gently caution as they grow you may have to move a plant or two. You may be asking why? The tomato and peppers can get full and thick (I have never grown eggplants). Can I suggest you that you take a look at the member gardens just to get some ideas on sizes and widths. I am not saying they all wont play nicely, but just in case. Especially as difference varieties grow, well.. different. 🙂
You found the right place to get into and help if needed. We have great helpful members. We are happy to have another Aerogardneed among us.

Thanks! Yes, I'm afraid I overloaded the Bounty, but we shall see. I know I am going to have to bonsai the heck out of it, but I suspect you are right and I'll have to transfer one or two of the plants. Now, I'm looking at the possibility of buying another smaller AeroGarden. This stuff is addicting. I also may transplant to a red solo cup setup with one or two of the plants and see what that would do.

I agree that the Aerogardens are extremely addicting. Almost everyone in this forum has multiple units. We just can't control ourselves!

Plastic coffee cans, mason jars, and just about any container with a plastic lid that can be drilled with a 1&3/8 inch (35mm) diameter hole saw will support the AeroGarden planter baskets. Use a gallon jug of water mixed with 6ml AeroGarden nutrients to fill the container up to 35mm from the top of the lid if you want to match the AeroGarden submersion depth. This works well for me but other more experienced Kratky growers may have other nutrient and submersion recommendations. |
