Please give me honest opinions on the Mighty Mini Tomato Kit. I have one and really want to try a tomato again. I am looking for one that can be grown in a Harvest (in case I don't use a tall). If you know a custom seed that is shorter in nature but tasty please post as well.

I've had excellent luck with the Aerogarden Red Heirloom Cherry Tom kit in Harvests.
Most of the 3rd party "container" plants I've tried have turned out to be too big even for a Bounty.

I found the minis to be small in size, like a baby fingernail. Too small a fruit for me. The Heirloom does fit in the Harvest, as well as a popular seed called Tiny Tim.

I will try one you mentioned Corinne. I do not like the super tiny ones. Thanks!

I was going to plant the mighty mini. Maybe I’ll just do 2 pods in one side and one pod of the heirloom in the other side. Would I need 2 pods of heirloom to pollinate?

with toms, you just move your hand through the plant and let the pollen fairy dust fall out. Some use an electric toothbrush back or a Be the Bee pollinator from AG.

With the Heirloom breed, they pollinate themselves. Which is to say that you need some fairy dust movement, but you don't need a second plant.

I have not grown the Mighty Mini myself, but from what I’ve seen I think the Heirloom is substantially taller and might dwarf the Minis. Anyone have experience with this?

The first time I grew Heirlooms, it was in an extra. The plant spread all over the place, but never really got much taller than a foot. Ever since, I've grown them in Harvests, with considerable success.

OK so I have Finally figured out this sizing thing.
Those teeny toms are not Dwarf as I have been calling them, but are in a category now called "Micro".
But the intention of my post is to warn about growing seeds from 'The Dwarf Tomato Project",a worldwide collaborative, the sites of which can be found all over the internet. The objective is to develop plants with large tomatoes which are suitable for limited spaces..in pots and small garden spaces. Sounds good. BUT I have tried a few of these in the AG and they do grow to the dwarf height. BUT..the toms are deformed , never ripen and do not yield more than 3 or 4 on the plant! The ones that turn red are pulpy and very dry...worthy of the compost pile after month of growing! The last one I grew the toms were large and deformed. I am no expert as is evident, and perhaps someone who is equipped with meters and amendments would do better, but for the average AG-er like myself, these are not suitable.
Just a word from my own experience in growing large toms from the so-called Dwarf Tomato Project. I have gotten plants with smaller fruit and they were more successful.

That’s helpful, Corinne. I think I’d much rather have a lot of little tasty fruits than a couple of big ones, especially when the big ones don’t taste good.
Shawn, thanks for the videos. It makes me excited to try those!

If I ever do grow them I will take what Corinne said to mind.
Mary, your welcome
