After harvesting, I let it rest for a few days and then started misting it again. Time for round 2!

Just discovering this thread and following with great interest! I live near Kennett Square, Pennsylvania -- the self-proclaimed "mushroom capitol of the world." Both my grandfathers owned mushroom growing plants. So did my husband's father. But neither of us have grown mushrooms ourselves. We love all kinds of mushrooms, and despite the number of local places where we could buy oyster mushrooms, this would be so much fun to try! Bonus points for not needing another AeroGarden.

How many harvests do you think you will get?

How many harvests do you think you will get? I'm not sure - I've seen other people say that they've gotten as many as six from this kit, but I think I will aim for three and then break up the block and use it to inoculate some wood shavings.

Beautiful!
After seeing your project, I am planning to get a wine cap stropharia kit and try to get it to naturalize on wood chips in my garden once it finishes fruiting. I have seen it growing in the shade of other garden vegetables around the net. I even had a few sprout in my compost bin one time.
I will wait until closer to gardening season to buy it.
Thanks for sparking the idea!

I hope it goes well! I will definitely be breaking up the mycelium and sprinkling it around outdoors once it gets warmer. Thankfully we don't have any other yellow mushrooms in our area, so we won't have to worry about eating something poisonous by accident (especially if I only pick mushrooms from the places I put it).

I think our house is too cold and dry for these to grow well, the ones on top do not look good. I've started spraying it 3x a day instead of 2x a day.

ERR0R1755, I seriously doubt it's too cold. Oyster mushrooms are a cool/cold weather mushroom.
They definitely look dry, so I think you are spot on with spraying them with water.

I think our air conditioner is broken (again), since I checked and the humidity in our house is only 7% rather than in the 40%-50% range like it should be. Hopefully these pull through.

These didn't look great this morning, and by tonight, the mushrooms had dried out and were very tough.
I'll try restarting these again once the humidity is fixed.

A/C actually dries out the air. So that may not be the problem.
