And my seeds are in the sponge: Sheepnose Pepper, from Dave's Seeds. It's a mild pimento that gets good reviews on here.
I put five seeds in the sponge at varying depths. This will be my third attempt - two others did not germinate, all from the same package. I don't have high hopes ... but hope springs eternal.

Not a sign of life. I wonder if I got a bad batch of seeds - other peppers are growing, but this is my third try with Sheepnose.

I'm betting it is the seeds, kanewai.
You will probably do great with a new order of them.

Ah well - nothing! My other peppers have some sort of pathogen, so I'll be washing this unit out & starting over.

Do you have any problem growing peppers in soil there, too? Or is it just in the Aerogardens?

There's a Hawaiian Chile Pepper that grows really well here outside. They're small, bright red peppers that grow on plants about four-feet tall. I've grown habanero outside before, but other peppers don't do well here.

Thanks for answering. I was just curious as to what could be going on.

Thanks for answering. I was just curious as to what could be going on. My best guess is an air born fungus or virus. At first I thought it was the seeds, but when a second plant had the same issues I knew it was a deeper issue. I've already washed the Bounty and moved some herbs in. Oddly enough, there are herbs I cannot grow outside in the tropics that flourish in the a.g.

It sounds like a fungal or viral disease to me, too.
That banana disease you mentioned--is that the one they are saying will wipe out that whole variety of bananas around the world?
That is really strange about the herbs that are only happy in the Aerogarden.
It's the old "win some, lose some" puzzle.

I wonder if you put a humidifier or dehumidifier depending on condition in the room if that would help.
