Neither pump comes on. It thinks the pumps are on, but they're not. Debugging with a spare pump, I just don't think there's any power.

Is there a 'test' button? Are they in Germination mode? You probably thought through these already.

Yep, did a pump test on both. The right side is set to continuous operation. Just not seeing either pump go.

I see a call to CS tomorrow. It is horrible that there is an issue. That makes me . Let me ask, is everything connected correctly? You never know if something is plugged in tightly or a screw is loose. My personal opinion ... like vehicles I never purchase anything when they are first introduced. You do not know what kinks are in the systems. Once they are out there people find them and report them. Hopefully this is something very simple .. keeping fingers crossed.

Triple and quadruple checked all connections, unplugged, plugged back in, wiggled, etc.

I wonder if they pushed a bit to get them out before Christmas as well. The stacking hardware doesn't come out until January, and you don't get to pick what seeds you want.
The pump is the same as the one in my Bounty, so that's not new for them, but I think the control box the pumps plug into is. If a known good pump doesn't work, then that control box might be faulty. Especially if everything else works, that's the first thing I'd check. If it's the wiring inside the unit itself.... ugh.

Actually, I'm suspecting that the fault is a lose wire in the top unit. The power plug for the control box comes from the left stand, the other end of which plugs into the top piece. So, I tried plugging the spare pump into that. Nothing.

I've ordered a couple airstones to tide me over. Already have the air pump.
This is solidly annoying, and the only good thing about any of this is that I haven't completely lost my... mind over this, which is what normally happens when I have something break.

You have invested tons of money and I BEG you, Dawn, not to go in and start soldering or anything like that. Please call them, have them send UPS to pick it up and send you a NEW one all at AG's expense. Going in and fooling with it for a DIY fix may just cancel the warranty. I'm just sayin'.

So, I just spent an hour on the phone with them, 90% on hold, and the rest reassuring them that I'd gone through all the basic debugging techniques.
The customer rep seemed surprised that I had a spare pump just laying around to do my testing with, but when I told her I have 15 Aerogardens and that having a spare pump was more or less a necessity, she very quickly suggested that they'd send me a new one, and once I receive it, I can send them back the old one.
I've got a couple low-cost ideas to keep the thing going for the short term, starting with putting an airstone in it. Should work out fine.
Still, an amazing PITA

Oh! I thought you meant they were only sending you a new pump! They are sending you a new machine?

Sorry. I guess I wasn't being very understandable.
Yes, the direction of the phone call changed abruptly once I mentioned how many I owned. New machine.

Well, at least they are taking care of you. But I wouldn't want to try to put one of those monsters back in the box. My sympathies for this whole mess.

When the new one comes, I think I'll try just swapping out the top piece first, which is where I expect the problem is.
