After lurking in the background and reading posts for awhile, I decided to register and say hello. I live in a desert area with rocky, poor soil so my garden is small and done entirely in containers and elevated planters. It's difficult to grow lettuce and other greens here because of the heat. Everything bolts so fast. In January, I bought my first Aerogarden, a Bounty, with the idea of using it to grow a few herbs during the winter and experiment with starting veggie seedlings in the seed starting tray. You know what I'm going to say next. I became absolutely hooked on the whole experience and now have five Aerogardens -- Bounty, Bounty Elite, Harvest Elite, and two Harvest Slim Elite. There is a little genie in the AGs who keeps whispering that I need one more...and I listen! It has been fantastic to grow bok choy, a variety of greens, and lettuce indoors. The basil, dill, parsley, and cilantro started indoors in the AGs transplanted beautifully to the outdoor garden. So it has been a win-win-win. Next Spring, my goal is to use the AGs to start all of my veggie and herb seeds for the outdoor garden. Thanks to all of you on Aerogarden Addicts who have helped answer questions along with the way without even knowing it! A very warm welcome to you, katyag247! Only five AGs? I went through the same process that you describe, and now have one Sprout, two Harvests, two wireless Bounties, five Bounty Elites, two Farm 12XLs, a Farm 12, and a Farm Plus! Only five gardens are active right now, because I'm rearranging the downstairs furniture, but I'm growing eggplants, celery, tomatoes, peppers, and a cucumber. So you've come to the right place! I'm looking forward to hearing about your projects, and hope that you'll post photos of your projects as time permits.

Welcome katyag247 ! I am happy you decided to join us. You are surely an AeroGarden Addict! They are addicting for sure. I have too many to count at this point. I have even sold a few and given a few away and still have some in closets and the garage not in use. I do have two farms that are always being used as well as a Harvest on my desk.
I look forward to hearing more about your gardens and seeing pictures too.
Again Welcome

I got hooked about a year ago. I'm now up to 12 aerogardens.
I started with herbs cause I thought it would be cool to have fresh dill and parsley on demand in the winter. As others, I've graduated to a variety of lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and catnip for my babies!
Good luck!
Sometimes various disasters happen, just remember the loss of a garden is an OPPORTUNITY to plant another!

Thanks for the warm welcome, lynnee , Shawn , and scarfguy ! I'm looking forward to sharing more, including some pics, and asking some questions, too. It's inspiring to see what everyone is growing. I don't do any social media and am getting familiar with how to navigate here, so if I post something in the wrong place or otherwise mess up, please let me know. Thanks for the how-to videos, e.g., how to tag someone. It helped this newbie.

Hello everyone,
I joined about a month ago and I’m looking forward to learning from you all. I am an art/tech teacher in NYC. I bought my first AG in the summer of 2021 and I’ve already collected 7 desktop units. I’ve learned a lot the past year and definitely want to get better. I have 2 units at school for students to watch the growth of plants from seed to flower/fruit.
I have tried tomatoes, small peppers, petunias and strawberries. I’m curious to try other plants during the coming winter. I look forward to planting and growing with you all.
Thanks, Young

Hi, birdsatflight, it's good to have you here! There are so many fun veggies that you can grow in an AG. I have a great Mini Munch cucumber, and just finished a moderately successful celery experiment. There's a faux poinsettia (aka polka dot) grow-along starting October 9 that you might want to check out. Everyone is welcome!

Hello, I'm HazelFyrebird, aka Kim. My focus in general is on edible plants, ornamental ones for outside, and year-round lettuce for the family inside is a "holy grail" situation for me, as lettuce is the only vegetable that everyone in the family can/will eat. The high price of crappy lettuce lately (when it is available) is also my big inspiration source.
I currently have a harvest slim set up in seedling start mode with 4 lettuce types and some San Marzano tomatoes that will get planted outside, then it will be replanted with indoor lettuces. Though I have been soil gardening for years, this is only my second try at hydroponics; my first was a failed attempt to regrow store thought hydroponic lettuce in a Kratky jar. Unsurprisingly, this is doing much better.

Hello to you all!! I am Lindy from the San Francisco Bay Area of California. Originally from New York City. I got into houseplants during the first year of the pandemic, but got too many and got overwhelmed by their care. I have been on a very successful weight loss journey since August of last year, and eating salads has been a big part of that. So I decided that I wanted to try my hand at growing lettuce and maybe tomatoes. Did some research and came across the Aerogarden! My husband doesn't want LED lights in our home because they interfere with his radio equipment. On ebay I found that older Aerogarden models take fluorescent grow bulbs. So I have purchased two 2018 Sprout/3SL/100303 models. Received one yesterday. Haven't set it up yet, but I am looking forward to it!

Welcome to the forum. The CFL's are hard to find as the LEDs are what is being produced. Can you maybe get a smaller unit to try and see if it actually interferes?
Glad to have you and looking forward to seeing what you are growing.

Hi Shawn, thanks for the welcome!
Amazon sells the genuine replacement CFLs, plus some generic brands that claim to work. I ordered 2 Aerogarden bulbs, maybe I should stock up...
Also, I probably should buy an LED one and see if I can find somewhere in the apartment where it doesn't interfere as much.
