Hello and welcome to AeroGarden Addicts!
We are happy to have you with us. You will see that we all share what we grow, the machines we have and share tips on Aerogardening. But you will also see that we discuss issues and problems we may see along the way. That is what makes this forum so good. We all get involved and help each other along the way, share what we grow, the machines we have and projects (plants) we want to grow in the future.
We also have Member Gardens that you can log your personal garden progress and a few times a years we have Grow-A-Longs. These are a fun way for those that participate to all grow the same (or similair) items in various units and see how they grow.
We would love to hear about and see what you have in your Aerogardens. If you have a question or concern, ask!

I'll go first.. My name is Doug and I live outside Philadelphia PA in Delaware County. I have been an avid vegetable gardener since 2004 when we cut down the maple tree that blocked all the sun. After that I stared with 3 raised beds and now have 6, which makes mowing what is left of the back yard very difficult! Grandfather was also a gardener and lived in south NJ where I had my first gardening lessons as a child. While speaking with a coworker who who knows I garden, he told me how his better half's AG has been growing in size with purchases she had made over the year while working from home. He suggested I speak with her if I was interested in trying (we were discussing germination and how fast the AG was) and after the conversation with her I figured I would giving it a go. So rather the going the easy route and buying a bounty, I built my own which has just been plated last night! Yes doing things the hard ways is how I tend to fly most of the time, but I learn more and have more fun that way! Thanks for being here, this forum has helped me considerably and continues to do so each day as I read the post from those with more experience with table top hydroponics! My screen name comes from a pervious hobby of airbrush painting that has been dormant for many years. I continue to use it as I am a member of multiple forums and just find it simpler to keep the same name. Picture the art projects can be found there if you are interested. Airscapesart.com |

Hi, I’m Liz, in the Black Hills of SD. I started my AG journey this winter. I was a little guarded in my expectations but wow! I am impressed! I started with 2 Harvest gardens: a 360 and an Elite slim. They are so compact! I just ordered a Farm 12 XL because I want to grow taller veggies. I started a out with some of my own seeds, as I misplaced the seed kits I got, for a minute. I also ordered the grow anything pods. The seeds were old but still everything but kale and spinach came up. But I found the other kits by then. I’ve been loving the lettuce! Outstanding! That was the principal reason I bought these. I was tired of the same boring lettuce that barely lasted in the fridge. I love salad! Now, I love them even more! I see the limitations of mixing taller plants with shorter ones, due to the light blocking. I will dedicate one to lettuce , another to herbs, and then the Farm to all the rest. I am relatively new to gardening. I lived in NYC all my life until 5 years ago. I started gardening here and have been learning alot. I have raised beds but primarily have focused on native wildlife gardening over food for myself. Outside of a grow bag of lettuce and a few tomatoes, some rhubarb and garlic , I haven’t been successful- or even tried much. We have a lot of gardening complications here. Snow can fall in April and May. We even had June snow a couple of years ago. Then there’s the hail during the summer. Unexpectedly early freezes can occur in September. It may not last but it does its damage to gardens. So the length of our growing season is relatively short. I will start using coldframes and other protections that more experienced people use in these parts. So its wonderful to have guaranteed food via the AGs. Really simplifies things over all. I am a little apprehensive about setting up the Farm. I loved the ease of the 2 Harvest models I got but from the comments, it looks like Farms are different. I hope it goes easy. I can’t wait to see the next crops coming up!

Welcome lizbleu! I am happy to hear you are enjoying your Aerogardens. I always had a black thumb UNTIL I got my first AG. Now I am growing and growing. Yes I still do have some failures but that is what's great about these. You can start and stop at any time.
As for the Farm, if you follow the directions it is easy to install and set up. I did mine myself with the help of Mark using the screwdriver (my strength is not the greatest). Even emptying it with the included tubing is not bad. It just takes longer, but not a huge deal. I have even removed the Farm bowls, placed my decks over the sink (they fit perfect with a double sink) and washed out the bowls and put it all back together.

Howdee from the recently-thawed Austin, Texas area!
I started my AG Elite in November and proudly showed off my lettuces to my offspring throughout the holidays (they were amused). I'm very happy that I haven't had any big ooops! up to this point.
I will probably post to the help section-- have a question about how to get back on track after days of rolling blackouts interrupted my second planting's schedule.

I have a nephew who just moved from Austin to Baytown right before the cold hit. He didn't lose power during the worst of it. But after everyone else's power came back on, then he lost his.
I doubt he realizes what a disaster Baytown is during hurricanes. But what young, successful computer guru is going to listen to advice?  |

My husband and I loved Tennessee as we were driving thru 6 years ago. We were at the Gibson Factory in Memphis.
Like you I would also help my grandmother in her garden and only remember the "hose" (pantyhose) she would use to tie things up LOL... I hope you enjoy your Aerogarden as much as I and our members do. Please ask any questions you may have and share your gardens with us. We look forward to seeing more of you on the forum  |

 Hi, I’m really just trying to figure this photo repository thing out, so this is a test post. I live in Lilburn, GA NE of Atlanta. I actually had quite a few Aerogarden’s going a few years ago, and then I had a disastrous spider mite battle, resulting in having to get rid of several gardens. So I haven’t grown any AGs for 2 or 3 years. We just stuck to our yearly outdoor garden. My husband is working on getting things started for our outdoor garden, and I decided I wanted to grow some herbs. So I bought a Moistenland Hydroponic garden and cleaned out my older model Bounty. So I have 2 gardens started. I split the AG herb pods between the two, plus I am trying to start some non AG cilantro. Wendy |

I am so sorry about your spider mite invasion. I am restarting many of my plants after a recent aphid invasion wiped most of them out. It appears that they are finally gone, so I finally have all my Aerogardens back in service,
I have two of the same model Bounty as yours.
Indoor herbs are so convenient and fun to grow. Wishing you success and much enjoyment with them!

Hello! I received an Aerogarden Harvest as a Christmas present in 2018, I think. It was fun growing little tomatoes and herbs, although some items were blocking other items, and not everything thrived. I have cleaned it out and reset it with new seed pods a couple of times. I have an outside garden in our little 1/4 acre lot in Savannah, GA. I got the bright idea to make plant starts in the garden and raised some pepper seedlings that I planted outside today. After I planted my 6 peppers in the Aero Garden, I discovered the 23 hole plant start deck and purchased one. Today, after putting my peppers in the ground, I planted some squashes, melons, and strawberries in the new seed starting deck. The brochure in the box told me I could find a planting template on the aero garden website, but the link provided was no good. So I did a google search for a template and found this forum! I joined, and got the template (thank you!) and now I know what should come up. I am looking forward to learning tips and tricks!

I am glad you found us. Did you find them template you needed? Please ask any questions you may have. That is what we are here for.

I am so glad you discovered what a great seed starter the Harvest can be. I have started many of my outdoor seedlings that way.
If you want to, you can harden the seedlings off by setting the Harvest bowl outside an hour the first day in the shade, then increasing the time you leave it out each day until the plants are acclimated to the outdoors.
I have had 100% success that way.

I'm LaToya and I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. My first AeroGarden was delivered on 03/18/2021, a Bounty Elite. Eight days later I ordered a Farm 12XL. Today I ordered a Farm 12. I may have a problem. lol
I've had box gardens and container gardens in the past. This is my first time growing hydroponically.

Once the Farm 12 is delivered, I'll stack it on top of the Farm 12XL and will move the lettuces, cilantro and chard "upstairs". Once the San Marzano get going, I plan to harden it off & give it to my mom for her outdoor garden.
