We have had such weird weather this year. Just a few days of winter.
This was today:
I have not seriously gardened for years due to frequent camping and poor health. But my health has improved, and continues to improve, so much that I am planning a nice vegetable garden this year.
Today I got one of my long-neglected 4' x 4' square foot beds done.
Ron had already done the weeding for me. So I added alfalfa pellets, compost, dehydrated chicken manure, lime, epsom salts (magnesium) and watered it in well.
Then I added a layer of straw to protect the garden until the alfalfa breaks down.
The straw is treated with guar gum, so when you water it, it sticks together and will not blow away.
I expect the earthworms to be deliriously happy and for their population to explode!
So, one bed down, three more to go, and 10 Earth Boxes (which I treat as mini square foot gardens. Then the flower containers!
(As weather permits. I do not work outside in cold, rainy or windy weather.)
So among the Aerogardens, hydroponics, containers and garden beds, it's going to be a busy spring!

How fun!! That looks like perfect gardening weather, not too hot or cold!

I am so sorry, Shawn. Spring will come. I hope.
Meanwhile you, Mark and Piper hang in there.
What would cheer you up? Hot chocolate and toasting marshmallows over a tea light?
I know you are kidding about not wanting to hear it, but I also know the pain is real.

We went out and Mark plowed while I shoveled behind him. We cleaned the vehicles and I threw down some sand so my idiot mailman will deliver packages if any are to de delivered.
I came in and then Piper wanted to go play. So we went out, she ran, jumped, and ate snow. Then she did her business for a second tie this morning. Now she is in the family room high pitch whining for me to play. But I am not going out again.
Hot Cocoa sounds good. Maybe I will make a cup. But I need more coffee first LOL.
