I'm not actually sure when this started so I used my best guess, but at some point I had taken an apple seed from an apple I ate and placed it in some rockwool. I don't have any big plans for this tree, although I might try to transplant it outside once things get warmer. I've already topped it once, it got a bit leggy from weak light so I wanted it to focus on what it had.

That's a fun project! Hope it thrives!

I moved this into a grow tent so it could get more light.

This might end up being a short-lived project, it is starting to decline (due to the lack of root space?) and it would be easier to start a new one from seed or buy a tree outright if I wanted one outdoors. One solution would be to up-pot it into soil, but I really don't want that much soil near my plants, especially in a grow tent. (also, my camera will not focus on this plant for some reason)

The tree died, although I'm not sure why unless it really was the lack of space. The roots were still white, the leaves didn't show any signs of pest damage, and the nutrient solution still had a good PPM. I didn't check the PH but I should have before I tossed it. On a related yet unrelated note, I have a tiny lemon tree that I'm doing an experiment with. It's growing in a suspended cube of rockwool and watered daily with a dropper. I'm curious to see if the cube will develop roots all throughout it since the roots do not reach too far downwards due to the lack of water/soil.

I hope the lemon tree makes it.
