Hi, I've just started my seeds for the spring in my Extra and my Sprout. This is my first year using the Sprout seed starting deck!
For the Extra, I took the clear plastic tray the deck comes with, cut a notch in the side for the light arm, and inverted it to serve as a humidity dome for the seed plugs. It's worked great for years!
For the sprout, the clear plastic tray that the deck shipped with isn't as tall, so it won't give much room for initial sprouts. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm using the tray it came with for now, more to hold the plugs down while they soak through.

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you with regard to the dome question, but...on the "hold the plugs down" issue, have you considered pre-soaking the sponges so they don't try to float up? Just a thought...but maybe I misunderstood the issue?

I have no clue how I missed this one.
From what I have heard from others, many do not use any type of cover. Some use saran wrap and some do what you do. As the sponges get wet, they will settle in and stop moving. You may have to push them in a bit. Also there are Seed Starting templates in the Informational section.
