I think I have plants from multiple seeds again. I found my cilantro flopping over and noticed multiple of the starter leaves. What’s the best way to proceed here? flic.kr/p/2kKJWXo

Liz, I have only grown cilantro outdoors, so hopefully someone will be along soon with an answer for you.

I am always growing cilantro and sometimes it can get leggy like this. If the seeds are not in the pod enough the stems are not thick or strong enough. I use dowels or wooden skewer or even tooth picks as a stake to hold them up as they are growing, This helps them form strength. Other then being floppy and leggy they look ok. Try to get something to hold them up on.

I am also wondering if the light is too high. It looks like they are not reaching out toward the light.

I think the light will be ok. I have cilantro growing now and the light is high and it is doing fine. What vendor seeds are you using?

@shawn These are the AG pod seeds. After I put some bamboo skewers, they straightened up just fine. Still, I wonder if I have multiple plants because I thought it was only 2 starter leaves per plant, not stem. Anyway, I left them alone because I killed my Marjoram thinking it was multiple plants, so as kong as it seems healthy, I leave the herbs alone.

That sounds like a good plan, lizbleu. However, I would trim out any long stems that have no leaves on them. Or, at least, trim back until there is a leaf, if you know what I mean? In the pictures, there seems to be a few that have not leaves. That might be a drain on the plant.

campingcorgis Thanks for the tip. I’ve been picking and forgot to clean up. Nonetheless I did determine I had multiple plants growing. I was able to clean that up too. I tend to be overly cautious with plants overall. I am getting the hang of it more.
