Cucumbers are well known for taking up a lot of space, both in plant mass and in roots, so I was wondering what would happen if I didn't give a cucumber plant enough space. Would it just produce leaves? Would it die from the lack of room?
I filled an 8oz glass bottle with potting soil and planted a Beit Alpha Cucumber seed in it. It has had some ups and downs, especially when I accidentally overwatered it, but today it has a flower!
The Beit Alpha is a parthenocarpic variety, meaning that it only produces one type of flower and does not need any pollination. I will keep the thread updated and post if anything happens.
