Greetings All, I'm building my own DWC with a seven gallon tote. I'm going to use some leftover supplies from my AG, pods and nutrients. My question is this; If my AG uses 2 cap full for 6 pods, how much for 7 gal. 8 pods DWC? Next question, can I put my air stone on the same timer as my light? Or should I run air around the clock on/ off every fifteen min?
Thanks for your time. Rob.

Hi Rob. I am about a couple months head of you with hydroponics. I built my own Bounty style machine and have several DWCs going. I run the air stone 24x7 and the light on a timer. I am still trying to figure out the correct ratio of AG nute per gallon of water in a DWC. One post I read the other day by another member said 5ML of AG and one ML of CaliMagic . I look forward to seeing what others suggest.
Also you may want to rethink that size of the tub.. that is a lot of water and nute to change every couple of weeks..

rmbx, mike is our resident DWC culture expert.
He should be able to answer your questions.

Thanks airscapes! I planned on measuring the volume of my AG and multiplying the nute. For example, if my AG holds 1 gal and uses 2 cap fulls. My DWC holds 6 gal, I would use 12 caps. Is this wrong?
Thanks again. Rob.

Ok! So after a little more searching through this great forum! I've discovered that a 9 pod unit holds 1.1 gal of water and uses 12 ml of nute. Times 6 is 72 ml or 2.43 oz. If I buy the 1 liter jugs I would get 13.8 feedings or six plus months worth. Am I on it or way wrong! Go easy on me I'm an electrician. Lol
Thanks, Rob

I have been underfeeding mine.. I started out with 24ml in 7L like the 12 pod, but got some edge burn on the Parsley, then I backed off too far. This flush and fill I am going with 18ml I think you are safe with 12 per gallon in a new garden but wait till Mike chimes in. I also think it matters what you are growing and where it is within it's life span.

Rob, for peppers, 12 ml/Gallon. The first two feedings are 8 ml.

Thanks Mike! I appreciate the reply. I'll continue my study while I'm getting my DWC ready.
Thanks again everyone, Rob.
