I have an idea for transplanting and securing an established nice nursery plant into a 3 inch net cup...Carefully wash the dirt off the root ball, and transfer into a net cup that has the bottom completely cut out...carefully place the root ball in the net cup and place a fudgesickle stick thru the root ball from one side of the cup to the other....then place a few clay pebbles and pieces of rockwool around the root ball...the final touch if necessary is a couple of strips of floral tape over over the bottom to prevent pebbles from dropping into the water.. this process may seem a lot of work but once you do it a couple of times it is simple...i am very impatient and saving weeks of time to grow seedings is very important to me..

shad, you shouldn't even have to cut out the bottom of the net cup. Maybe a secton a most.
Here's a video showing Khang Starr translanting soil plants into an Aerogarden. The most imprtant thing is how he cleans them.
After that, you could transplant them into Kratky, using clay pebbles to stabilize the plant.

This video is transplanting a very small seedling.. not what I call an established plant which would have a sizable root ball too large to easily fit down the bottom of a normal net cup...I have tried and even cut a quarter size hole in the bottom of the net cup...I lost several nice plants due to root damage and shock..hence my new idea for a different approach...
