Has anyone grown sprouts in mason jars before? I just ordered some stainless wide mouth lids and mung bean and broccoli seeds to grow sprouts for the wraps I like to eat. Any tips or warnings?

Many years ago I grew them. All I remember was using cheesecloth and a rubber band for the cover, changing and then dumping the water 2-3 times a day to keep them moist, and adding a teaspoon of peroxide to the water once a day so nasties wouldn't grow.
I found a good article with similar details here.

Tips & warnings: Mikey grew wheat grass sprouts for a bit. Stinky! Glad he kept them upstairs, where I rarely go! He used the mat in a try method.
I have this micro grater that I got many, many years ago at a Home Show. I can use that to make stuff that looks kind of like the "broccoli-slaw" at the market. I use it for carrots, broccoli, zuke, etc. It makes a nice addition to salads and sandwiches and is pretty easy too. If you have interest, I can look around for a similar product or take a picture of mine. It was a freebie with some other kitchen tool I bought at the show.
