Finished my new garden to replace the DIY Bounty.. calling this one Farmish as it holds 2.1 Gallons, is a bit taller and won't leak! I used the same grow deck bottom but the box and lid are hand made. This is just 1/2in PVC sheet from Home Depot. I had hoped using the PVC primer and glue the joints would be water tight, but no luck. I had to seal the inside with Aquarium sealer. If I do another I will forgo the primer as all it does is make it look messy. I do believe if it had been cut with a CNC router it would be water tight.. The top is just 1/4" PVC. This stuff cuts great on any saw and is very easy to work with. I might make another top with just 2 holes in it for a single tomato .. Won't be able to start anything until all the outside stuff is out of the office.

Love this! I'm curious to know your experience using this build and whether you have made any improvements to the design.

No changes, as it worked fine. The minor issue i still had was some minor leakage when roots would get to large and push up against the side allow the water to find it's way outside but it did not flood.. I have not used it in in the past year as I did not have the urge to mess with hydroponics over the winter this year. Here is a link to where i used this aerogardenaddicts.com/thread/3529/terminated-heritage-seeds-birdie-tomato

The far left track is a long air stone? Water pump ? looks like an air pump to me. And the pump component, the white pipe flared, is this like a Dewy Mister? could you suggest search term so I can find it on Amazon Ebay Alibaba. For our NGO we would like to design a simple low wattage system/kit for village house hold use. There are good ones on line but to import the cost rise by a factor of 3 or 4 making good products unaffordable. Thank you

The components in the box are a long air stone connected to external air pump. The water pump is within a 3d printed mount which is attached with mounting tape to the bottom of the box. The white tube is also 3d printed and connects the water pump output to the 3d printed water deck that is mounted to the top of the PVC box. I do not recall where the pump was purchased but it is the same pump used in the pet fountains. This 2 gallon box as to replace the original CD/DVD case box I had used the prior year. When you buy the pet fountain pump, look for the one that has a low water sensor and automatically turns off if the water level is too low.
While ideally you should check the water level you might as well avoid burning out the pump if you get too busy.
