I've tried a few different flavors of seeds, and I keep coming back to this one. I currently have three harvests devoted to this plant.
When ripening, it is my "leaving for work in the morning" snack. I always pluck off the freshly ripened ones on the way out the door.
I just did dump and refills on two of them, and even though those two are just starting to set fruit, the root system from one plant already nearly fills the basin. And, of course, always ends up pulling the filter off the pump. I cannot believe the notion that you should plant more than one in a Harvest. Plant one, and it will rapidly take over all available space under the hood, and a lot of it adjacent to the harvest especially if there's available light to leech off of (like a neighboring Aerogarden)
Of all the stock Aerogarden seed kits, I have found this one to be by far the most rewarding.

I like that one too. So I'm dying to try the AG Golden tom kit.

Small cherries. Smaller than youād buy in the market.

Are there any varieties for the aerogarden that give off maybe golf-ball sized āmatoes?

drbanks, Just wondering, do you leave the timer set at 16 hours or do you turn it down to 12 hours of light for growing tomatoes? I was over at the pepper forum and they dropped their time down to 12 hours to promote budding and pepper growth. Is it necessary for tomatoes? Thanks. Don

Boy, I donāt know, I have a few of the first that set that are virtually the same size as store bought cherry tomatoes. Itās impossible at this point to tell if they will all be that big as I have such a spread of sizes depending on when they blossomed. I can say with certainty that unless I screw up, these dwarf plants are huge producers.
Iām so happy someone else is growing this variety! Itās absolutely true that the root system of these plants is incredible, for a compact plant. This is one sturdy strain of heirloom cherry tomato.
I have my lights set from 5am to 9pm with the pump 24/7 and an air stone on a pump centered in the basin.

Their so small and so sturdy! Their starting to get lots of tomatoes on them! I'm running the same settings as you! I'll have to get an pump and air stone setup as well. Thanks again for your help! Don I have always left mine at the 16 hours when growing peppers. Well on the Bounty and Ultra it is set to 16.5. I have not had an issue

Oh yes, sorry I didn't reply sooner.
Always leave it on the standard 16 hour "vegetable" cycle. Always get big harvests from them. Usually a first huge harvest, then maybe two more of decreasing size before it dies.

Kate, Shawn, drbanks, Thanks for all the help! I'm still amazed at all this. I received the tomatoes on Feb.12 and now their filling out with tomatoes.
While I'm thinking of it, does the nutrients stay the same? Do you add the extra calcium nitrate and the magnesium sulfate?

In addition to the Aerogarden Nutrients, (Nutes), I use CaliMagic and clearly it's working. Others use Mr. Mucha-Stash. You're supposed to raise the Aerogarden Nutrients to 11ml in the large (non-farm) units. Tomatoes require more nutrients than other fruits/veggies, however. I doubled the Nutes, but I wouldn't increase above the recommended without testing your water first.

There is information about nutes and Mooch amounts. Mike gives some good info and his plants are amazing. I hope this helps

Even though most people here prefer the mooch, I find General Hydroponics CaliMagic to be pretty good, too. I generally use 5ml per gallon on a rinse and refill. Its main, or maybe only advantage over mooch is that it's a lot easier to find.

Well I found my problem with the nutrients. Mooch is 4% , CaliMagic is 1% The calcium nitrate I'm using is 15.5% i cut that in half so I'm actually using 8%. Way to much! The magnesium sulfate i only used 1/8 of a tsp. per gal of water. The other companies don't list their magnesium sulfate concentrations. I think I'll order the mooch. The tomatoes are looking good, but I'm not going to chance it! Thanks again! Don

Are you using the Aerogarden Nutrients? If you are, keep in mind the additional product you need is only Calcium and Magnesium and CaliMagic would be most appropriate. If you don't, Mr Mucha Stash would be the way to go. CaliMagic 1 - 0 - 0 GUARANTEED ANALYSIS Total Nitrogen (N).....................................1.0% 1.0% Nitrate Nitrogen Calcium (Ca).............................................5.0% Magnesium (Mg)......................................1.5% 1.5% Water Soluble Magnesium Iron (Fe)....................................................0.1% 0.1% Chelated Iron (Fe) Mr Mucha Stash has more Nitrogen, but less Calcium and Magnesium. I can't find anything to copy and paste, but here's an image of their label and a PDF link to the label. Mr Mucha Stash Label w/Watermark Link

Hi Kate. I'm using Aerogarden nutes. The calcium and magnesium are from my Masterblend hydroponics nutrients. They come separately, Masterblend tomato nutrients, calcium. 15.5-0-0, and magnesium 9.7 . It's pretty high, but it was for out side growing. Just wasn't thinking of the different potency of indoors vs. outdoors.

Hello new here. looks like you planted all your holes with tomatoes, I Planted 5 tomatoes & 2 peppers in my aerogarden. I was told on a different sight you can only have one tomato plant at a time & I should just rip out all but the healthest one! how did you do with yours? Should I feed extra? or just start over like they said?
