Hello new here. looks like you planted all your holes with tomatoes, I Planted 5 tomatoes & 2 peppers in my aerogarden. I was told on a different sight you can only have one tomato plant at a time & I should just rip out all but the healthest one! how did you do with yours? Should I feed extra? or just start over like they said?
Hello and welcome michelechpmn!
Let me see if I can help even if only a little until others add their response.
I gather that you have either an Extra, Ultra or a Bounty seeing you planted 7 pods. What many of us here have found (I actually learned from some of the OG's) is that you really should only use twp pods. One Tomato and One Pepper, or Two Peppers or Two Tomatoes in these machines. Reason is that they do get full and wide. If you have more then that, they get so dense that they can die off, condensation can get so bad that leaves can get mushy or cause mold.
If you take a look at members Garden Patches, you will see how plants grow. Some members do use up to three pods but not many.
All AG pods are seeded with at least 3-5 seeds. So when plants (most herbs, peppers and tomatoes) start to grow, you should take out all growing plants and leave the healthiest one. Growing more then one pepper or one tomato in a single pod is way too much. Even in the Farms I do not think many will plant more then three plants.
Feeding, it is usually 8ml at first feeding and then goes up to 12 if I am not mistaken. I have yet to grow tomatoes so I can only speak of peppers, herbs and a few others. But I start my peppers off at 8ml, for the first two weeks, then increase to 9ml for the 3rd feeding and depending on how my peppers look I will increase to 10 but have never gone above 11 tops and that is even rare for me.
AG's feeding is pretty generalized. For example, while they say 8ml for greens, most here find that is too much. I will give no more then 6ml for my lettuce. Again, if you take a look at some of the members gardens you can scroll thru and see what they are doing. There is also a Nutrients and Supplement board, Tomatoes board and a Peppers board to take a look at. You may find some helpful info in those as well.
I hope I was able to assist a tiny bit. Please continue to post any questions you may have, that is what we are here for I look forward to seeing more from you, Again, Welcome!
