It's been a busy few days. I moved the tomato garden to make room for a second greens tote. I terminated and cleaned the old greens tote. I took down the Apollo LED and replaced it with a Roleadro LED Grow Light. I havent stabilized it yet. (any suggestions? I think I'm going to use twine.)
Yesterday, I turned 61. I feel every minute. And my blood sugar is giving me fits.
Here on the left, I started a new Park Seed Super Jericho Lettuce tote.
In a half hour, I'm going to my friends house to take more flower pics. Well, that's enough for now.

I would be so distracted by that lovely photo, I might forget to check on the Jericho!
Best of luck with your lettuce garden, and praying for your health.

I don't have a suggestion for the light, but I do love the setup! Nice job and looking forward to pictures in the future too. Saying a prayer for your health!

mike, FOr a Farm if using all Iconic Nutes, how much do you add for herbs every two weeks?

The instructions say 4 teaspoons per gallon. That's 20 ml/gallon (actually 19.715 ml/gallon). For a farm, that would be 40 ml. I personally use about 80% of that for greens. I use 33 ml for the Farm. If you are growing herbs you want to flower, you will want to get the bloom formula as well. I only use the grow.

Thanks. I will make note of this. I may want to try the Iconic especially since I have a whole bottle I never used. I never let herbs go to flower so I will try your 30-33ml. THank you

Please note, the amount used is different for my totes than my Farms. My Totes are 2-1/2 gallons. For those, I use 30 the first feeding then 40 the second, then 42 after that. If I followed the recommended amount, I would be using 50 ml on the totes.

So maybe I should begin with 20 and then go to 30 tops? I get so confused

That surprises me , mike. I had heard that Jericho was slow growing.
I will enjoy watching them shoot up!

I've never seen greens that are slow. Even the slowest has sprouted in a week. We will see. These are called Super Jericho Lettuce plants. They are supposed to be only 8" tall. They are hot and cold resistant. They are supposed to be one of the sweetest romaine lettuces. I thought the original was pretty sweet, too. But they could get bitter if unharvested. I actually had some leaves get up to 24" tall on the original greens tote in 2014. I can't wait. I want to blend a daily greens shake. I already miss my greens for my wraps, too. I bought a head of Napa Cabbage today.

mike, I have cooking greens mostly in my totes, although I eat them as salads when they are young and tender. I have decided I want to plant all salad greens for the reasons you mentioned. I need to plant less lettuce and more other greens, too. I have romaine going bad in the refrigerator because I planted too much at a time.

Occasionally, but not regularly. It's hard to believe they are only a week since seed. I will thin them to two tonight. It's supposed to be 91° today, yuck. I have to run to the grocery store, too.
