When I was a kid, my mom figured out how to propagate potatoes from store bought spuds. She would buy some potatoes, put them in the cupboard and forget about them. A month or two later, the potatoes would be covered with shoots.

A month or two later, the potatoes would be covered with shoots. LOL that's how my dad gets his potato and sweet potato shoots! Much cheaper than buying seed potatoes.
