In addition to the Harvest I just bought, I picked up a used Bounty Basic for $120.00.
It is has a full crop (if that's the right word) of herbs and I decided against emptying the water. I transported it in a trash bag and about a cup and a half of water slopped out.
The port for the cord had a tiny bit of moisture so I decided to let it dry overnight before plugging it in.
Should I give it longer than that?

Did you get the Bounty with the herbs in it? If so I personally would empty it out, Clean the basin and sponge at the filter. Refill with water. Then I would gently run each pod under cool water to rinse off and put in the deck again. I have no idea what that other person used or how long that water was not changed. (Personally, I do not kow if I would keep their plants especially if I did not know them .. but that is just me as I am funny like that.)
Just make sure your plug and port are dry before using.

Shawn,
I stuck the corner of a paper towel in the port when I brought it home yesterday. It seemed to dab up a small amount of moisture.
It's been almost 24 hours. I don't know what else to do to make sure any electrical components are dry.
Maybe give it another day? Or do you think it's probably ok now?

It is most likely okay. You don't know how many times I've gotten them wet while washing the units out. Not that it was safe to plug it in but I did anyway
That is just what I do not saying it's right LOL

That's reassuring. It's getting a little late today to empty it, rinse the roots and replace the water. How much trouble am I in if I do it tomorrow?
What should I expect the display to say when I finally plug it in? According to the previous owner I should get some sort of message regarding the power being interrupted with a prompt regarding the light. If you have any more specifics about that I would appreciate it.

You should be fine.
When you plug it in it should say something about a power outage however I do not know if that changes after a certain amount of time. Basically you can just start fresh following the prompts on the display.
I have not had my Bounty running in a while so I forgot the prompts. If needed let us know.

basilvert, the Bounty should allow you to choose "My power went out" or "Start a New Garden".
If you want to keep the current crop going, choose "My Power Went Out", then it will have you reset the clock, and that is all you need to do.

Thanks so much. Something came up today so I'll have to do it tomorrow.
If I run into trouble I'll be back.
