I'm preparing an order from JohnnySeeds, and was wondering what parsley seeds you'd recommend? Curley or flat?

I like flat-leaf parsley because it’s easier for me to chop, but tbh I’ve never noticed any difference in taste, plant-size, or ease of growing. I will say I’ve really only done long-term parsley grows outdoors, where it’s basically a weed and makes itself right at home so long as you water it and can’t really speak to the hydroponic side in this case. But for parsley I’d say it all depends on your food aesthetic and how frustrating you find chopping curly leaf parsley!

Before growing parsley at home, in my AGs, I would have told you I favor flat-leaf parsley, for the flavor. I found store-bought curly parsley to be rather blah in taste. Part of the AG Herb Kit that came with my first AG was one of each. I found the curly leaf to be very flavorful and I enjoy it in all sorts of dishes. Salads, soups, you name it. My thought would be, think of how you will be using it. If you'll have more need for Flat Leaf, like for curries, Italian dishes, etc., then grow that. If you think you'll be using it more as garnish and toppings, then I would lean towards Curly. But, hey, maybe just grow one of each & then decide which one you'll use more...or, maybe you'll have use for both? Now, if you are thinking, she really didn't give me a definitive answer...you are right! Learned that from my dear old Dad. He was inclined to make me think for myownself!

IMO, flat leaf is better for cooking.
Curly parsley is beautiful for garnishes. I like growing it just because it's a beautiful plant.
