Yes, it’s very fresh and bright. To think, we only ever had dried herbs growing up where I lived. Except parsley. There was always parsley around, but not even really for eating. More as a garnish. Kind of useless. Dried herbs definitely still have their place on cooking, because they do better in a long cooking stew or chili or sauce, but finishing a dish with fresh herbs is like nothing else. I don’t know why none of our parents were using them while we were kids and teens. Especially where I live, where you can grow them pretty much all year round. I know, my mom never had fresh herbs. My great grandmother did. She had a huge garden with tomatoes, herbs, peppers, and zucchinis that I remember. THose were the good ole days

The lemon cilantro has definitely come back, yay. Though I didn’t capture it in the picture, some was growing out past the hood a week after the last picture. The Genovese in the back right (can’t really see it behind the Greek Dwarf) has pale leaves. I don’t know what to do about that. And just a beauty shot of the Greek and Genovese basil

I have read it can be root issues. I would try trimming back the roots. Another reason is lack of nutes. Maybe a different variety or plant is sucking more of the nutes up then this one.

I’m thinking it is a root issue too, because the roots are so huge that there’s hardly room for enough water in there. So I will trim them, thanks for the idea. So, these had gotten much bigger since the last full shot of the garden a week or so before, so here is after I gave the lemon and Genovese a big hack and munched on them with my favorite Armenian restaurant kabobs. And to my pleasant surprise, I enjoyed my lemon basil over their lemon basil that they serve with every dish.

They all look nice and healthy. As for taste, I agree that our own grown items do taste better then store bought of those received outside of what we have.

Look at those roots. I have come to check the basins of all my units weekly (if not more) to see if roots need trimming. As for your herb corner, I LOVE it, Look at all those herbs. And that dinner, I am drooling here.

Snapped a bit after the last pic, but with the addition of Corinne’s pepper and a lemon basil transferred in. but then the 2 basils on the right got root rot, so I pitched them, kept the mature lemon basil, and transferred the young lemon basil and the pepper out of this garden to protect them.
