My Bounty Microgreens kit (arrived yesterday) has the same four patches of felt. Now I know that it wasn't a mistake! I almost missed the bag of seeds, because it was thrown into the large shipping box, and not inside the kit box. I have an old Bounty with navigation buttons that I'll convert to microgreens when the petunias are big enough to transplant. FWIW, I wash the Bounties in the dishwasher top rack on fast wash. When they come out, I put the deck on the bowl, turn the whole thing over, and weight it with something. The still-warm Aerogarden parts don't warp then. Sounds like a good plan with the petunias! Have you been in touch with AG about getting the proper felt?

Not yet. I'm okay with the microgreens setup for now, because I don't have an AG available for planting.

This is Day 4 of my AG microgreens Superfood mix in the new Bounty Elite. I kind of doubt that microgreens benefit from the extra-strong LED light, but who knows? The covers on the microgreens trays will probably come off tomorrow. (In case you're wondering about the background, it is a LEGO roller coaster.) Turns out that I should have ordered the Spicy mix, because Superfood has broccoli and other vitamin-K-rich seeds. Husband is on blood-thinner medication (long story), so we have to carefully measure his vitamin K veggies. The seed packages do list the seeds contained in the packets.

For all you Bounty microgreen growers that are disappointed with the small felt mats sent with the kit.. there is a solution! I purchased the microgreens growing pads from True Leaf market, cut out a template for the bounty tray, and voila! Perfect size mats. I’ve used these pads previously in hydroponic trays (not aerogarden) and they worked perfectly. They should be fine in the aerogarden and no need for wasted space.

Thanks for this post! I did a test of True Leaf felt vs AG felt with my first/only Microgreens Garden and found that it worked fine. That said, I think it expands a bit more than the AG felt, so feel that one might cut is a tad smaller to allow for that expansion. Also, I found that it seemed to disintegrate more and made harvesting, for me, a bit more challenging. But thank you for posting this as an alternative in the MicroGreens Kit Thread! Good to get the word out. And, it is price competitive too. Again, welcome & I look forward to getting to know you!

Welcome, patlab ! So good to see you posting.
I have only grown microgreens in potting soil and covo coir, so it's good to hear of your experience.

Hi, patlab ! I like your suggestion about taking time to cut a Bounty template for the True Leaf felt pads, because some of my AG microgreens washed off the edges of the too-small AG pads. Some of the strays actually made their way all the way into the water bowl.

Welcome to The forum. I'm glad that the felt pads you're using are working great. I know some people like AG products and others like to switch out with others. I'm on the latter half. I like to use all Park seeds sponges. I'm not a microgreens grower so I look forward to seeing how yours do.

Today I washed a current Bounty Elite bowl, deck, and pump in the top rack of the dishwasher. (I did NOT wash the float that measures the water level.) The bowl and deck didn’t warp at all. I used Fast Wash, the shortest cycle.
Also, I transferred the current Microgreens to my new Harvest Elite. The insert just drops in when you remove the grow deck, and the deck floods whenever the pump turns on.
I like this setup far better than the Bounty Microgreens setup, where you have to take the grow deck apart to use the insert. With the Harvest, you just swap the grow deck and the insert.
Also, in the Harvest models, the felt fits the growing tray exactly, This means that very few seeds wash into the bowl. The smaller unit is a bit quieter, too, because there’s less water moving around.

Online it says: "***Only compatible with AeroGarden Harvest or AeroGarden Harvest Elite models.**" But maybe that is just an oversight since the XL is brand new?

I doubt it. If you read my review of the Harvest XL is shows the different in deck size.

I added in the dimension of the Original Harvest to the first post. Thanks Shawn! I did read the review...but not having the original (only a 360), I guess it just didn't register with me about the size? Too bad. But, maybe better for me as I really like having the wi-fi options anyway. In the meantime, I continue to search the www for a used or unwanted Bounty Elite Artisan, my favorite machine!

I doubt it. If you read my review of the Harvest XL is shows the different in deck size. I have the Harvest Microgreens Kit and I have a Harvest XL (to compare) and Shawn is correct that the deck size is different. The kit works well with the Harvest or Harvest Elite and to be honest it has exceeded my expectations. I've tried growing microgreens in other ways but this kit has worked wonders for me.

Thanks chadtexas! I do have the Microgreen Kit for the Bounty. I found it easy enough and that it worked well, I just hate giving up the Bounty to do it? Lots of considerations!

A plain Harvest is inexpensive and has a small footprint, which makes it perfect for an AG dedicated to growing microgreens. I hated giving up a Bounty to microgreens, too, because I didn't need a whole lot of them. It's easier to do the frequent water changes with the Smaller Harvest bowl, too.
You need a model that looks exactly like the model advertising the Bounty and Harvest microgreens inserts, or the inserts won't fit. My original Harvest Elites have a differently shaped bowl than the current ones, and the same is true of my older touchscreen Bounties with upright displays.

The Harvest (2019) model is what the microgreens are for
