Hello Everyone,
This is my Lacinto kale grow in a Trecaan unit started on Aug 31, using the 2 part nutrients that came with the unit. Seed company is Sow Right Seeds. I’m using distilled water (and not testing the PH). The growth looks ok but I’m not sure if I like the taste of the kale. I’m used to buying my Lacinto at Whole Foods. These leaves are very tender and slightly bitter. Someone on Amazon said the seeds were weeds, not kale! Also the kale I buy at WF is darker green. Maybe the color will deepen as it grows?
I have mixed feelings about these seeds and unit. I don’t like the light in the middle of the grow panel and the water re-fill in the back. The AG design is much better. I ordered some lemon mint leaves and will try a grow after the kale. If that doesn’t work I‘ll use it for flowers. I think it looks very pretty in my dining area!
Any thoughts or suggestions?
