When I opened up the app this morning, a pop up said there's a new version in the App Store. I checked and all it says is "Squashing a few bugs under the hood."
I'm wondering why they don't get let you update, instead of needing to install a new one? Has anyone tried installing the new one? Did you have to set up all your machines on it again? Is it easy or a pain?

I will try it when I get home from eye doctor assuming I get the message there's an update

I did not get the message for an update. I did removed and reinstall. I was however able to get one of my units on the app. THe other one still wont and THIS is the one on top and I really need on the app.

I went to the App Store and selected the Aerogarden WiFi link and that let me open it and just hit the "update" button. I did NOT uninstall the original. I assume it updated, as it did do all the things it usually does when it updates. I wonder why it doesn't just come up as needing an update and doing it like all the others do it, without going to the App Store. But, whatever the case, it seems to have updated and it was not a hassle. It now reads that I have V1.4.5.

My app updated at some point. It shows 1.4.5 when I go to Garden Settings/Wifi & App/About.
All of my Aerogardens are present and accounted for in the app. Never got an update message.
