This is the Red Planet Radish from Renee's Garden - I started three seeds in a generic AeroGarden-fitting sponge, the one discussed in this thread, and thinned it out to one seedling tonight. I placed the sponge in an AeroGarden pod, and then placed it in a 32oz glass bottle from some lemonade. I filled the bottle with nutrient solution (AG nutes, 6ml/gallon) and added 2ml of HydroGuard. I also fashioned a cover for the bottle (to block light) using an old shirt sleeve and a paperclip!

I like this variety! Only one week later and it is already forming a bulb.

I love that your radishes grow so nicely, when I tried I had more carrot looking ones LOL The trick is to keep the lights close and go light on the nutes - if they get too much nitrogen, they'll focus more on the leaves and won't form a nice bulb.

Was surprised to see the bulb form above the "soil", but it makes sense for the space, did you do anything to make it be above the surface? It is a pretty radish!

I did not - I have had varieties (like the Crimson Giant) that start in the hole and "eat" some of the sponge as it grows, which means I need to cut off part of the exterior before I eat it, but this one is forming nicely.

I am very happy with this variety - the leaves are staying small.

I've got to try radishes! Give them a try! With a lot of varieties that are only 30 days until harvest, they are fast and fun to grow

Harvested this today! I'll have to find out how it tastes, but as far as growing it went, this might be my new favorite radish variety.
