These are pelleted Wave seeds from Park Seed.
I raised the pH to 6 to counteract our very hard lime water.

One little petunia is peeking out. The rest are still hidden in the pellets.

They are creeping along. I am impatient. I want color now!

They are all up, although the one in the left rear is a slowpoke.
I reused sponges left over from kits I had never grown. I was surorised to discover a red lettuce shading out the petunia on the left front.
Now all are petunias, I hope!

The petunias are up and looking good except the one at the right rear. It is yellowing for some reason.

But wait! There are more surprises in the second go around for these sponges -- there are not one, but TWO mint planrs in my petunias!

At least you know what the intruders are, Sher! I'm hoping that mine will be something as nice as mint. ![d446](//storage.proboards.com/6818329/images/GokeCOjIcsTphLRsDhpK.gif)

My petunias are not doing too well. I had to remove some brown spotted leaves.
I don't know how much the extremely hard water here has to do with it.
In case it was a potassium or phosphorus deficiency, I added 2.5 ml of Dyna Grow Bloom. And I added 3 ml peroxide in case it was a pathogen.
We'll see.

My multi colored petunias are fighting for their lives. The roots are tiny, and when I did an R&R yesterday, the water smelled awful. I added a half teaspoon of peroxide to help kill the bacteria.
It wasn't enough. Today the water is scummy. This time I added 1-1/2 teaspoon of peroxide. If that doesn't work, I'll do another R&R tomorrow.
They do look decent from the top, though.

How very odd! The plants look wonderfully healthy from above. Do you have any idea what might have tainted the water? Algae? Fingers crossed for the petunias' survival! ![t69083](http://storage.proboards.com/6818329/images/RftMehyQzBOaDkKRrdvc.gif)

It's a mystery to me. But I will keep babying it. Once it has good sized roots, it should be able to fight it off more easily.

The peroxide did the trick. The scum is gone!
