All,
I a m sorry it has been a while since I have posted updates. I will be sure to do that later. Right now I am having an issue.
one of my farm12xl machines died. (the control panel quit working / no power).
I found a way to power the pump using a 12v AC transformer. however, I cannot figure out how to power on the LED light panel.
i tried to measure the voltage of the other farm12xl that i have, but am unable to measure its voltage for some reason.
does anyone know what it takes to power up the LED panel separate from the AG machine?

I am sorry to hear this are having an issue. Did you call Aerogarden?

If the Farm 12XL is within warranty, AG will replace the hood.  |

How long have you had your unit? If in warranty they should replace the parts needed.

it’s out of warranty but I’d like to use my farm lights, I don’t know which power adapter I should buy for them. |

I would still call them. They may be able to sell you the parts needed at a cheaper price? Doesn't hurt to try.

I've been agonizing over the electronics also. I've been trying to use an external power supply for the pump and just realized its 12V AC not 12V DC! Which is odd cause all of the aerogarden bricks output DC.
If you wanted to try something, you might try the power supply specs for the 45W light panel. Its 21"x11" instead of the 16"x11" of the farm. The light panel comes with an external power supply with an output of 24V 5A DC (with the standard - on the sleeve and + on the center pin)

Does anybody know if air stones ONLY will provide enough aeration without using the AG pump.  ?

air stones will provide plenty of aeration to the plants

I have never used airstones but I hear they provide lots of aeration
