Nothing to see yet, but I started a petunia garden intended for transplant outdoors. Following Sher 's lead, I chose pelleted seed from Park seed: Wave Appleblossom (3 pods); Wave Healing Waters (3 pods); Wave Yellow Hybrid (3 pods). The instructions say NOT to cover the pelleted seed, because it won't germinate if covered. I placed the seeds on top of the sponges instead of dropping them into the sponges. How did you plant the pelleted seed, Sher ?

lynnee, I soaked the sponge then pushed them down onto the rim of the sponge -- like you are doing.

5/21/22 Day 37. The Healing Waters, Appleblossom, and Wave Yellow petunias haven't been thriving, so I terminated the garden. They produced lots of leaves, but the leaves had a yellowish cast that didn't look very healthy. The plants were too crowded. AG says NOT to thin flowers, but these need space to spread out a little. I started to thin them to one plant per pod, but the leaves and stems broke off so easily that it was hard to leave any undamaged plants. I'll try again another time, because I really want to grow yellow petunias. After partial thinning:

lynnee , I thinned mine. Mine also had yellow looking unhealthy leaves. I added Calmag and Dyna Gro Bloom for the extra potassium and phosphorus because it appeared they had a deficiency. It helped a lot.
I start with AG's advice, but I experiment if the plants don't look healthy.
p.s. Love the way you used that emoji.

Thanks for the advice, Sher! I really will try again with these, and I'll try the additives. I'd have transplanted these outdoors, but I have enough flowers in front for now.
