This is part of the Seed Savers Exchange's ADAPT trails, specifically their Cherry Tomato trial. The varieties are Alston Everlasting Tomato, Fence Row Cherry Tomato, and Hagan Little Yellow Tomato. All three were direct sown in Barrel #1, which I used last year to grow ground cherries and french marigolds. Over the winter, I added more food scraps and woodchips as it sunk, and finally topped it off with coco coir right before I planted. I will be adding at least one more plant to this barrel, although I am not sure what or when.

All three varieties are up, along with something else (that I did not plant) in the middle. I suspect it is either a sunflower seed that a bird brought over from the feeder, or some type of melon/pumpkin seed that was in the compost underneath. I plan on letting it grow a bit to try and identify it before I decide whether or not to remove it. The tomato plants might be hard to see due to the sun, but I will grab another picture once they grow a bit.

The added surprise ended up being a pumpkin plant - I cut it at the base and stuck it in another barrel, and it rooted there. And the pumpkin:
