I'll be taking some time off. Shutting everything down for now. Maybe I'll start some microgreens in a Harvest. That would be easy enough to take along on our camping trip...but they grow quick enough that I may have a few of them before we even get on the road!
In the meantime, wishing all many happy and fruitful gardens!!

Yesterday, while walking thru Walmart, entertaining myself while DH shopped for fishing weights -- not for fishing, but trying to come up with something to better keep the flag from dancing -- I spotted the AeroGarden display. Of course, I had to take a look. They had a bunch of the 6 pod kits for Cascading Petunias. I grabbed one, just to make sure the trip wasn't a total waste! So, now I'm thinking, maybe I should plant them in a Harvest AG. That's small enough I could certainly find a spot to take them along on any RV trip we might decide to make. I know that one doesn't set the time on the Harvest unit. Rather, one starts it up when you want the light to come on each morning. Since I like that to be at 4AM-ish...could I set it up and have it running and then just restart it in sometime in the wee hours of the morning? When I usually wake up, but don't get up yet. I think that's what I used to do with the Sprout when I used it. Somehow, my memory isn't working too well right now. Just got back from OHSU and there was yet another car in the ditch just down the hill from our house. I think that makes 3 in as many months...and those are just the daytime "accidents" that we happen to drive by and see.

campingcorgis, that method certainly works with a Sprout. The newest Harvest models allow you to set either the "lights on" or "lights off" time, so be sure to scroll through the Harvest menu to see whether your Harvest has this feature.

Thanks! I will check it out. It has been sometime since I used a Harvest AG!

The regular Harvests (not the Elites) are still plug in and go with no adjustments unless they have changed them since last year.
On those, if you want to reset the start time, you hold the light button for 3 seconds, the lights will blink, and then they are reset for whatever time you did the reset.

Thanks for clarifying how the Harvest and Harvest Elite light settings work, Sher! At least I was half right!

I think I am the only one who loves the simplicity of the
basic Harvests.
Maybe because that's what I started with. They were such magic little things to me. Just push a button and they were on their way.
