Let us know how they taste!  My Tom Thumb peas have some full pods now. I shelled one today, and the little peas were great eaten raw! I need to update my thread with a photo soon.  Well I was wrong about it being a while before I got to taste them! I saw there was a pod that looked mature so I picked it and oh my goodness the peas taste amazing!  They're so sweet and flavorful! I gotta remember this variety if I ever have outdoor garden space. |

I think you'll like them! Lots of pea flavor 😋 And as you can see from the pics, they fit in a Bounty just fine (height-wise, anyway)

Well, I ended these today. I saw a spiderweb on them and noticed a bunch of brown leaves and my brain jumped to "SPIDER MITES!" and I took the garden down.
I didn't actually see any discoloration on the underside of the non-dried leaves or find any holes or more than that one stray cobweb, so I'm not sure if I overreacted or not. Maybe it was just from a regular old spider taking a stroll through my plants. But given how destructive spider mites can be and how difficult to get rid of them, it may still have been an appropriate response even if it does turn out to be a false alarm.
So, I'm going to keep a close eye on the two active gardens I have right now and see if I spot any sign of the little monsters in the coming days. Here's hoping I don't!

Ugh, spiderwebs! Keeping fingers crossed for you, that there's no infestation. I've never seen spider mite webs without the presence of mites, so I think your chances are good that it was an ordinary spider that wove the web. I just learned why t's a bad idea to ignore these things! I had some harmless gnats in my strawberry crowns; then I started seeing gnats in the kitchen after I terminated the strawberry gardens. Turned out that they got into my potatoes, where they were having a high old time! All gone now, after I pitched the potatoes and set out Terro fruit fly traps and an electric Katchy trap. |

Oh No... but I would have done the same. Better safe then sorry. We can grow all year long so these can always be restarted.
SOrry they had to end but I guess it is for the better of all plants and your home.
