Is anybody using the sunrise/sunset feature? Has anybody documented a difference by using it?

I live in the Pacific Northwest. Much of the year, Sunrise to Sunset would be way too short on the light schedule for most AG plants, so I've not bothered to use it.
I love the Sunset to Sunrise settings for my outside lights! Works great and I never have to think about them. But that's OT from your question. Sorry!
Hopefully, someone else will chime in soon.

I have. It works for us as we do not want the bright lights first thing in the morning. They gradually get brighter and the same for at night. They get dim. YOu can set it for the amount of time you want it to take. We use 75 mins.

SO... it sounds like you are saying the sunrise/sunset feature is more for the comfort and convenience of the human in the room and does not necessarily affect the health or growth rate of the plants?

i was actually reading a study about this very thing, the verdict was that it really doesn't matter if it slowly comes on or if its a sudden change the hormones and stuff that start working on the upper section still takes a bit to take wake up and get to work (at night most of your hormones and stuff go down to the roots and start working there).
the only real perk i see to doing something like this is energy cost, wear and tear on the equipment, and heat build up (which is a pretty decent perk) but out of all the years i've been growing i haven't really seen that big of a difference on how it affects the flowers (as long as your keeping proper air circulation and everything it really shouldn't make that big of a difference)

It is to mimic real life. It does not have to be used.

I designed and fabricated a system to do that with LED grow panels in my grow tent over the winter. It was a fun project, but the tomatoes really did not care one way or the other..
