Every once in a while, I see some picture posted by another chile-head that has a bowl full of rainbow colored peppers of all sizes and shapes that they've grown in dirt.

I want to have one of those brag-bowl harvests, too.  Maybe sooner than I think.

Well, at last count, I have about 20 different varieties in various stages of growth.

So, it's official.  The Vezena Piperka plant is opening blossoms all over the place and setting most of them.  And some of the older/larger peppers are starting to show circumferential corking.

As for the Hungarian Wax (if from me) were from Burpee.  Here is their description:  A Mexican favorite that's four to five times hotter than jalapeño: distinctive, pungent flavor.

is Heat-lovers, here's another Mexican favorite used in a variety of dishes, from salsas to soups, with a distinctive, pungent flavor. Large 2-3' plants produce fruits about 5" long that start out bright yellow and turn red as they mature. They make great pickled peppers.  

My first (blurry) Hungarian Wax: Do they all grow pointing up, or was I just lucky with this one?

Each time I dump and refill this planter, I'm impressed at how much the pepper plants have grown in every direction possible.

The lid of the pot is a hexagonal tray that holds six net pots.  It's relatively easy to pull one of the segments out, and I routinely do just that (putting the removed plant into a reserved empty spot in the other big bucket) so I can access the inside with the water pumps and siphons and all other paraphernalia. 

This week was the first time it was actually difficult to do this.  The vegetation is so dense that it was hard to get a grip on the one segment, and as usual, the root system, about 2 feet long, manages to get tangled with its neighbors.

The mobile plant this week, as with most weeks, was the scotch bonnet, since, it's the shortest of the plants in there right now, but boy, is it a lot of dense leaves.  I'm not sure this strategy is going to work much longer.
