So I placed a few seed orders. Among the list I am going to try to grow Stevia leaves. I want to see if I can grow it and if I can, how sweet will it be for water and tea, etc. Spinach has always been one that everyone says is hard to grow in an AG so I also bought some Little Hero' Container Baby Leaf Spinach and 'Catalina' Baby Leaf Spinach from Renee's for only $1.50 a pack. Lets see if these will grow. I also had some herbs, lettuce and peppers in the orders as well.

With spinach, I've found that the difficulty lies in the seeds growing mold very easily - I would suggest soaking them in 3% hydrogen peroxide for a few hours before you put them in a pod with normal water, since that was what I had to do in order to get mine to grow.

So... since spinach likes cold, I was thinking of waiting until next winter and moving a sprout to a back room where it's colder (maybe 50's ? ). I'm going to try the sprout seed tray like lynnee did the radishes and see if I can harvest some baby spinach.

So, 85% of my seeds arrived. I just need to end the thyme and clean that unit. Once the rest arrive, I will plan out what goes where and get those planted. I can't wait to grow some new (to me) stuff.

I can't wait to grow some new (to me) stuff. Me, too! I love the anticipation of starting new gardens!
