Planted the lettuce pods that came with it on 12/25. I'm hoping it does something either remarkable or catastrophic to justify posting another picture of lettuce. Day 6:  |

Day 16, just before giving the lettuce a haircut:  I'm surprised how thirsty it is! I'm having to bring the water level back up twice a day now. |

Twice a day?! Ohmygosh. I guess that’s the downside of the cute smaller machines is a tiny reservoir. Thanks for mentioning because I’m only just starting my first Sprout.
Your lettuce looks delectable btw!

Twice a day?! Ohmygosh. I guess that’s the downside of the cute smaller machines is a tiny reservoir. I think I made it sound worse than it is. I've been adding more water when the water level falls about 1/4 inch below the line. |

I'm starting to get bored with the lettuce garden, and annoyed by how much water it goes through on a daily basis. Very tempted to chop it all up for a salad tomorrow and try out the seed-starting deck, though I already have way too many seedlings clustered around the AGs and under the grow light panel.

Just 3 times, before today. The 2nd and 3rd times, I waited until the leaves were nearly to the hood (which stayed in the lowest position), then took a few whole leaves from around the sides and gave the rest a "haircut." But I don't normally eat lettuce in salads. I eat a salad every morning with spinach, sunflower sprouts, avocado, and feta cheese, and I was just adding the lettuce to that.
