Today I planted a Lettuce/Tomato garden in a Bounty Elite. Three lettuce pods on the left, and one tomato pod on the right. The plan is to treat this as a lettuce garden until the lettuce is finished, and then let the tomato have the AG to itself. The lettuce is AG Baby Greens, AG Salad Greens, and AG Romaine. I hope they germinate, because I've had the pods for quite a while. The tomato is another AG Heirloom Red. Photos to come when there's something to see.

This project didn't work out so well. The "Baby Greens" pod produced a saw-toothed, red-veined monster with roots that threatened to fill the grow bowl. It sucked up all the nutrients, too, so that none of the other plants grew. When I removed it, the Romaine and Salad Greens began growing again, but threatened to overpower the tomato seedling. At 45 days, I transferred the tomato to another Bounty with a couple of happy tomato seedlings. I did this in part to get it away from a neighbor tomato that had powdery mildew. The two lettuce pods then developed normally, but the edges of the leaves wanted to dry out, and some of the Romaine leaves were stunted or misshapen because of the weird early growing conditions. Today (1/15/23) I harvested the two lettuces, and put them in baggies in the refrigerator. After sending the Bounty bowl, deck, and pump through the dishwasher, I started a new herb garden with a couple of old Thyme pods that may or may not germinate. I also ordered cilantro seeds from Burpee, to add to the garden later.
