Balcony Wildflower mix of 5000 seeds from OutsidePride.com. The varieties aren't listed, but the maximum height is 10", so they're perfect for this machine. I used AG "Grow Anything" pods. Mystery Flower #1: 3 seeds in back pod. Mystery Flower #2: 4 seeds in middle pod. Mystery Flower #3: 5 seeds in front pod.  No idea how long it typically takes flowers to germinate, but I'll post pictures as they emerge  |

It's day 4 and I'm seeing germination in all 3 pods, though the seeds were too low in the middle pod to get a picture.   I'm most curious about Mystery Flower #1, since there's a chance I might've planted seeds for 2 different flowers in it. |

I remember this seed packet of yours from another thread because I was amazed at how you separated all the seeds from one another. I’m so happy for you they’re sprouting. And, I’m really curious to see what happens because I think I have a very similar wild flower packet. Good luck!

The pod in the back is turning into a basil! I removed the smallest of the three, but at the rate that they're growing, I think it might be best to just keep one. Hoping the middle pod can grow another inch or two before I have to raise the hood for the one in the back. Day 11:  |

Have you moved the pods around? Maybe switch 1 and 2? ALso are you sure the wildflower 3 is a basil? Try rubbing the leaves to see if they have a basil smell.

Not a literal basil, but I'm afraid it might turn into a "basil" if it starts acting like the basil growing in my herb garden! (Blocking other plants from getting light, roots growing out of control, etc.) I removed the smaller one and the one that remains is growing even faster now!

It's Day 24 and I still have no idea what kind of monster the one in the back will be when it grows up, but I've been turning it daily, trying to find the side with the shortest or most angled leaves so the middle pod isn't shadowed so much. I also rotate the front pod daily so it flops away from the middle pod:  |

I've been looking at the illustrations in the Botanical Interests seed catalogue, and I'm ready to guess what might be growing here. The one in the front looks a lot like it could be California poppy. The one in the back might be a daisy. The one in the middle might be flax.

I might have to move the middle pod to a glass, or plant it in potting soil. The big one in the back is trying to swallow it up, and that one isn't coming out of the machine without a fight. This is what I found when I did the first rinse-and-refill yesterday:  |

That happens with pepper plants all the time. With your hands, gently squeeze the roots for that one plant together and gently help it along while taking it out .

It’ll be even harder to remove later, so you may as well remove it now and pot it. The other 2 seem more compatible in size. Plus that huge root mass in such a small machine is displacing a ton of water that the other plants need.
