Something I've been wanting to do for a while, that the new AG grow lights kicked off for me!! Some of the plants I bought were waaaay too big for AG grow lights, so used some other grow lights I had already for those.
In the kitchen, green onions moved into a nicer pot with room to put other things around it!
Front door:
The empty bowl is waiting for some cute little succulents that I ordered!
Next to my work area:
Next to the mini fridge:
I'm looking forward to expanding on these!

Really nice! Love to see your "space".
(The plants are nice but I was most impressed by the beer you have in your mini-fridge)

Lol I like having lots of variety but was tired of being crowded in the regular fridge. So I got a mini specially for the beer!

I love all of it, so so nice! In addition to the plants, my eyes go to the comic books and illustrations/graphic arts (and the beer mini-fridge). Thanks for starting my day with some inspiration! So what kind of succulents are you going to grow? My garden room has several shelves of succulents but there are never too many and it's always fun to hear what other folks are growing.

My absolute favorite part of moving out of my parents' home was being able to go nuts with my decorating!! Not much has changed 10 years later, except even with a bigger place than what I started out with, I'm running out of wall space. Never seems to stop me from buying something new when it catches my eye, but I generally end up spending an hour wandering around the house trying to decide where to fit it in
I ended up buying one each of Echeveria 'Pullox', Shattering Echeveria (both a lovely shade of purple in the photos, I'm eager to see them in person), Sedum 'Coppertone' Stonecrop, tiger tooth aloe, string of buttons, Propeller plant, Graptosedum 'Bronze', Echeveria 'Blue Rose', 'Kalinda' Hens & Chicks, Echeveria 'Chroma', and Anacampseros Rufescens 'Love Plant'. Honestly a lot of those names don't mean much to me, as I've never grown anything other than aloe when it comes to succulents. But I got a cute little pre-planted succulent arrangement while I was shopping for plants to fill the house with, and really wanted to do my own after seeing it!! Even though they're going to be small plants I'm not sure they'll all fit in the bowl I bought for them, I might have to find room for some of them elsewhere. I was mostly going for pretty colors and cool shapes while I was shopping.
This is the pre-planted arrangement I got:
I don't know what any of them are, but I'm in love with the spiky pink-edged one!! It 's what made me go looking for more succulents with interesting colors!

Your place is lovely, but I was captivated by your bromeliad! Did you grow it from seed? Is it hard to care for? All of your plants look wonderfully healthy!

You will have so much fun with the succulents you ordered, maskedsonnet ! Most of them are super easy to propagate from a cutting or even a leaf. Too easy, that's how they take over your space! The spiky pink-edged plant is an Aloe hybrid. I'm not positive about the ID of the Aloe hybrid in your arrangement, but it is similar to one called "OIK". Odd name but I love the plant. If you want to see more examples of coral/red/pink-edged Aloe hybrids, search for Aloe OIK, Coral Fire, Christmas Sleigh, and AJR. The green succulent at the six o'clock position in the arrangement is an Echeveria but I don't know the cultivar name. I've seen and grown the other two plants, but am not sure about their names.

lynnee the bromeliad was bought, when I started this I wanted some big, mature plants to put around the house. So far it's easy to care for! They all have been, which is a relief. I wanted a bunch of "water once a week and forget about it" plants, and so far they've all been that way!
katyag247 thank you for the info!! Those all look super cool, and it made me do some more Google-ing about aloes. I never new they came in so many colorful varieties!

If the other succulents are anything like the aloe vera that my parents have, they'll NEVER die. They got one from my aunt about 20 years ago, and it's only multiplied with no signs of dying off. One small transplant has turned into 4 pots of a large aloe vera and Way Too Many Babies in every single pot, the over-crowding is almost impressive. Mom has given up on transplanting any of them, she doesn't want any more pots of aloe vera. I'm going to grab some for myself next time I go visit, if I remember to take a pot with me!! My parents were both super eager to have me take some of those off their hands lol.

My new plants came in yesterday!! Sadly they showed up right before I had to leave for work - had just enough time to get them inside, unboxed, and shoved under a light for the night before I left. Put them all in their new homes this morning!!
The Tiger Tooth Aloe got his own planter and rewarded me by showing those spikes aren't just for show!! Not a bad prod, more surprised me than hurt me lol. Told me to be careful with him, anyways!!
And everyone else got put in the empty bowl with the other plants next to the front door!!
Very, very pleased with this company. It averaged out to around 7 or 8 dollars per plant, and they all showed up nice and healthy. No heat packs in any of the boxes though, so if you live in colder climes maybe wait until spring if you want to order from them!! Luckily it's been mild here so far and they showed up before the cold front. Single digits predicted for Thursday/Friday!!! Yuck!!

So exciting to get a box of plants in the mail! They all look super healthy and ready to grow. The Tiger Tooth Aloe, String of Buttons (Crassula), and Echeveria Chroma are among my favorites. The Chroma always have such interesting color patterns.

Looks like you have an Echeveria ‘Perle von Nurnberg’ on the left, maskedsonnet! It's the purple one. These grow very evenly, and retain their rosette shape as they get larger. They also produce tall, interesting flowers. That's a lovely selection of plants. I'm partial to the copper-colored ones, and I love your spiky aloe in particular.

I honestly thought I’d be most excited about the purple ones, but then I unboxed the copper ones and totally fell in love!! I think they’re all very pretty but the copper are my faves for sure

I used Miracle Grow Indoor Potting Mix. The one that says “designed to be less prone to gnats”. So far no gnats, hope it stays that way!

It’s what Amazon pushed at me when I searched sterile potting medium! I think Miracle Grow usually makes good products, but the regular stuff often has gnats in my experience. But not this stuff (yet)!
