Why am I sad when this happens? Are you sad when this happens?
I planted a few pods of peppers a couple of weeks ago. As I always do, I put 2 or 3 seeds in each pod to improve the chances of germination. In this case, all of my seeds germinated. I have three lovely 2 inch seedlings in each pod. BUT that is too many. Today is the day that I had to snip off the extras.
I'm sad... I feel like an abortionist... I know it's only a plant but I took a life...
Maybe I'd feel better about it if I thought of it as euthanasia

I think it is a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" thing. I have been caught planting just enough pods of different plants I want to grow and some of them don't grow. It's kinda too late to attempt to plant more after the fact. So plant twice as may pods as you need and they all grow and you have to discard some. Gotta do what you gotta do to get what you want growing.
I dislike both not having the plants growing I had wanted and having to discard extra plants.

Yeah, I hate thinning AG seedlings, too. It's just so hard to choose. Sometimes, if all of the seedlings are strong, I transplant a few to new pods by splitting the sponges. (I split both the donor and recipient sponges.) Then the new pods go into another AG.

It doesn't bother me much anymore.
