Hi Everyone, I'm having an issue with my Farm 24 XL (over a year old so out of warranty). The light on one side is not working. It's something in the main component, because I placed the cord from the other side into the light and it works fine. I ordered a new adapter to get power from an outlet directly, but it barely lights up the display. Obviously I need more power. Does anyone know which adapter to order? Here is the one I got that doesn't supply enough power - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B2RLKLMH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I don't want to contact Aerogarden. I've tried this before when I've had other issues out of warranty and they simply won't help unless you are in warranty. Thanks!

I am sorry to hear you are having issues. It has been so long since I have looked at the back of my unit or the cords that I honestly do not know what powers what anymore. Hopefully someone can assist. I would look but I can not twist myself in such a way to do so for the space it is in.
As for AG, have you tried to ask if they would sell you a power cord? I have contacted them for out of warranty issues in the past and they offered to sell me items at a discounted price. I have not done this in a while so things may have changed. I would try to call again, someone else may answer and you may get a different response.

Chat works well with Aerogarden issues.

The farm lights work on 48V. Luckily it's the same voltage as PoE so there is plenty of PoE adapters on Amazon that will work with the lights. I use a $20 PoE adapter along with a $10 power outlet timer to drive my "broken" farm light. My farm is out of warranty, so that is the cheapest way to drive those lights without disassembling the console and replacing the broken inductor (the usual issue with those).

Do you have formal electronics training, scarfguy and LoveSalads? I envy your electricity/electronics knowhow. I haven't ever found a self-help book on practical electronics that I could understand!

Haha , I know very little about electronics. I can use a volt meter but don't know what to do with the readings. 20 years ago I could configure fiber-optic switching units but I've been retired for 20 years now.
I read with enthusiasm (and ignorance) LoveSalads posts.

I did go to school for Electronics/engineering lynnee . This was like 1980 and a few when you actually cared what a part did in a circuit because you were supposed to repair the problem. That stopped mid 80's and everything went to swap entire sub-assembly. So 99% of that knowledge is gone but I enjoy tinkering around. I do not think there is a book for basic training anymore went the way of the Dodo bird ..............

I have always found the Dummies guides to be helpful, and they are available on such a wide variety of subjects -- And sure enough, there's one for electronics -- No substitute for an EE degree, but these Dummies books generally cover the basics pretty well. Sadly, I could not find an Aerogardens for Dummies, so I guess that's what we're here for.

Clovis Sangrail, I'm going to get the dummies book for electronics. The one for home networks worked for me when I was setting one up sometime in the last century!
