My tomato plants are growing big and now they require water every 4 days or so. Is it alright to wait for 24 hours while the low water warning is present before refilling the tank? I sometimes am out of town when it happens.

raymoose, the short answer is "no". It's best to add water to your AGs whenever the water level shows less than "full". Lower water levels expose the roots. You should top off your AGs before you go out of town. Consider purchasing an Aerovoir from Aerogarden or Amazon. You might also want to purchase an AG gallon jug with spout, which makes it easy to top off your AGs frequently.

Thank you, the Aerovoir sounds like a great option, I'll look into it!

The aerovoir works well. Just be sure that you follow directions and put it at the same level as the garden it's feeding. If you are going away for awhile, I would put a pan under it just in case it overflows.
