Do Cherry Tomato plants have a lifespan? I have several plants growing for a year now and even though they are flowering and producing fruit, much of the underlying leaves are drying up and dying.

A year is a good lifespan for a cherry tomato plant. However, if only the lower leaves are drying up, the plant will probably continue to produce for a while. Here's a link about a prolific tomato that I terminated after 347 days because the roots were mushy: linkI've learned subsequently that the tomato leaves were crumbly because of a strong draft from an open window shade. I actually prune all lower leaves that aren't getting light, to conserve the tomato plant's energy for fruiting. I start taking them off as early as 2 months.

Thanks for the info. I don't have any open windows to cause a draft other than a fan that I use to "pollinate". Probably could do a little more pruning.
